Hi, I'm Melissa Ite nee Thompson, Owner and Founder of ROSES & CHARCOAL. We are a small batch Jamaican self-care lifestyle brand, focused on helping persons pause and slow down from this bustle of life, while expressing themselves through their self-care rituals.
In 2020, I made the conscious decision to stop prioritizing my busy schedule over my personal needs. Eager to slow down and design my own self-care rituals; I started searching locally for products and resources. However, none of them aligned with what I had envisioned. It was then I realized, that self-care wasn't one size fits all and that it was an expression of who I was.
I was interested in unique products, similar to those used in spas - to transform my space into a "self-care haven". I wanted to learn how to intentionally prioritize myself on a daily basis. It was from this desire, that ROSES & CHARCOAL was born.
One of the main priorities, when creating our range, was, to ensure that our products could be used by self-care newbies and enthusiasts alike. Everything here at ROSES & CHARCOAL is intentionally crafted by hand and allows you to unwind, refocus and restore, so that you can be actively present in each precious moment; not just for yourself but also, for those around you.
It was of equal importance to create products free from synthetic chemicals and be 100% transparent, by disclosing every ingredient we use. Our products are plant-based: made with essential oils, florals, botanical powders and seeds. These ingredients strategically work to elevate mere daily routines into luxuriously natural bathing, soaking and shower rituals.
